Storm Damage

Your home insurance policy will provide cover for damage caused by a Storm event, such has strong winds, lightning, excessive rain and snowfall, and other atmospheric related events.

However, it is important to check the small print of your policy as some policies will exclude storm damage to fences, gates, shrubs, etc.

Insurers may also check Met Eireann records to confirm if a storm event occurred at the time of loss.  If a storm event is not recorded at that time, they may decline the claim stating that the damage is due to wear and tear, and not Storm.
