We are now pleased to confirm that the works have been completed and, most importantly, the Insured and their family have moved back into their home in Knocklyon.

In the previous updates, I outlined the importance of early documentation, appointing the right experts, and managing the strip-out and assessment process. With the claim agreed and the scope of works finalised, the focus then shifted fully to reinstatement.

The earlier groundwork truly pays off in the reinstatement phase. Because a detailed and accurate Bill of Quantities had already been agreed with the Insurance Company’s Adjuster, the contractor was able to proceed without delay and with clarity around the full scope of works. This helps avoid disputes during the build and ensures the reinstatement meets both the policy cover and current building regulations.

Throughout the rebuild, we remained involved to monitor progress and deal with any queries as they arose. This level of oversight ensures that any variations are properly managed and agreed in advance, helping to prevent delays or unexpected issues.

The completed works have reinstated the property to its pre-loss condition, with upgrades incorporated where required to meet modern standards. The transformation from the initial fire damage to the finished home is substantial, and the before and after photographs clearly demonstrate the extent of the works involved.

While reaching this stage is always the objective, fire claims can be complex and, at times, overwhelming for homeowners. Having the right professional support in place from the outset can make a significant difference to both the outcome and the overall experience.

This claim is a strong example of how a structured approach, clear communication, and cooperation between all parties can lead to a successful resolution.
